Default New Tolkien Book

So J.R.R. Tolkien's son is releasing an unfinished story of his father's. I can't decide if this is a good thing or not. Obviously the idea of a new Tolkien story is intriging, but these things often turn out to be lame, or at least not as good as the stuff he did release. Whenever someone releases an unfinished work from a dead artist I always think there must have been a reason why they didn't finish it themselves. What does OOT think?

This isn't the first time Tolkien has done this. There has been a ton of stuff released over the years.

It's a good thing.

There's a tendancy for most people to think an inferior work somehow tarnishes previous work. Silly statements like "George Lucas destroyed my childhood memories when he made the prequels" comes to mind.

Even if this new Tolkien book is terrible, the previous works will still be as good as always.
