Default \"Kobe Style American Beef\" at Ruth\'s Chris

Has anyone tried this? I ate in Ruth Chris on sat. and had this pitched to me - imported cows, fed the same, massaged the same as Kobe - double the price of the rest of the steaks on the menu. Didn't trust it to be worth the extra cash - plus I was being taken out for dinner and didn't feel like upping the tab too much - But I am curious - anyone?

Double the price? Probably not worth it. The "regular" steaks there are great anyways.

hellrazor,

It is generally just the wagyu breed of cattle used to make kobe beef. Wagyu is a superior breed in most cases although hereford is also outstanding depending on what one is looking for.

It is generally not given the famous kobe treatment however I have no knowledge of what RC does and how they source their meat.

If I'm not mistaken isn't "Kobe" Beef like pieces of the truth cross. Like if you added up how many claim there are you have more Kobe cows than possible?

Go for it next time the wagyu cattles take like 3 times as long to make ready for slaughter lots of marbling hella good, since they take 3 times as long to slaughter is a big reason why its so expensive plus the diet and stuff etc.

If you live in America youve probably never actually had real Kobe beef seeing as its illegal to import.

I have had the Kobe at RC. I recommend it. I didn't notice the price when I ordered it.
