Default Hedionism vs (not sure what the word is)

I'm trying to look at this objectively. Looking for some basic material and can expand upon it later. I never really formally studied this, so excuse me if it seems basic.

Please post any arguements you think of. I'm trying to keep this objective as possible

The only assumption I want to make is that there is no afterlife.

Hedionism
"If I don't do it someone else will" ex if I don't Chair this cigarette company and run it solely to make as much money as possible someone will.
"You only have your own consciousness, other people could be robots for all we know"
"are all actions (even seemingly unselfish) actually selfish actions?"

Not Hedionism
"If everyone did it the world would not be as good a place"+the world would be a better place (more overall happyness) if everyone had the collectives happyness in mind"

Neutral questions
Do other animals ever do completely unselfish acts for the good of the species, with no benefit to them personally?
