Default Party 5/10 A9s in big blind vs button stealer and small blind

Hello, I'm currently on a 350 big bet and counting downswing and feel like I don't have a clue what I'm doing anymore. Any comments on this hand will be very much appreciated.

I've just sat down at the table.
Button is 26/25 over 91 hands.
Small blind is unknown.

Do you really expect him to fold better A high? I don't think so.

i would rather take this line and put two bb's in then call and guess and have no shot of folding anything

I think you should check/call the river or bet/fold the river. I'd lean towards bet/fold. With villain's line, I'm thinking he's either got a 7, a pp, or UI ace. Course, if he's got that then I guess maybe that's a case for check/call.

Is there any merit to calling flop and c/r the turn (checking river if called)? Pretty strong line and only costs an extra SB compared to hero's line. Just wondering out loud.

Your right check/calling is dumb.
