Losing my confidence and starting to second guess myself
Do I still know how to play this game?
Villain is 54/16 over 50 hands and called down some pretty weak holdings but gotten lucky to double up to 200BB's. I just joined and he covers my 100BB's. Full Tilt Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.10/$0.25 6 players Converter Hero $27.25 Villain $56.95 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG+1 with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG folds, Hero raises to $0.85, CO calls, Button folds, SB calls, BB folds. Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($2.8, 3 players) SB bets $1.5, Hero raises to $4, CO folds, SB calls. Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($10.8, 2 players) SB checks, Hero bets $5, SB calls. seems fine to me. Did you feel like you did something wrong?

Bet the turn harder.

This looks fine. The turn card is really ugly. Aggressive players might c/r you light after that weak bet though. If this guy's passive, then I like the $5 to charge him on baby flushes.

I like it, but I usually raise more on the flop.

I'd say bet more on the turn, but otherwise, well played.

Ok, thanks guys. He ended up turning over Qs7s and despite that, I was sure I played it correctly. Just been running poorly past week or so like this and some of it was probably tilt, but it helps hearing I'm playing decently still.

Re: Losing my confidence and starting to second guess myself
I probably play it just a tad stronger all the way but river check behind is fine, especially if villain is the tricky type.
Curious? Where in the hand did you dislike your play? |

[/ QUOTE ] Not really. If hero holds an 8 (most likely holding), then a check-raise is definately the best way to get money in. If hero holds an overpair, he's not getting much in anyway. Villain's line is strong. |
