Default Should I see Lewis Black in Providence tonight?

A friend of mine got a few tickets to see Lewis Black tonight at P-pac across town. We're not sure if we wanna go.

Would it be worth it? He's pretty funny on the Daily Show, but has anyone here seen his stand-up?

I mean it's free so they'll likely go, but if he's not all that great I'll pass-up and let another friend go in my place.

I wouldn't. His schtick gets old after one joke.

That's kinda what I was thinking.

I mean I like his daily show segments, but I don't know much about Lewis Black outside that. I assume he's had stand-up specials on Comedy Central and stuff, but I've never caught any.

I've never seen him live, but I have heard good things.

I would think definitely worth seeing - especially if free.

Since you haven't seen any specials, I'd say go. I like his stand up but I think the more you see of it, the more annoying/less funny it becomes.

Hah, so you're saying he's an acquired taste.

I just spoke with her on the phone, and she told me our seats are really good. They are in the first section. So I'm gunna go check him out.

Got nuthin' to loose... except an hour and a half of my life.

-I'll just head over to Trinity and drink a few beers, P-pac's only a block or two away... He'll be funny.

I've seen him on comedy central presents... I say go he was pretty funny. Although I'm not incredibly angry like he is (maybe if they ban online poker) I identify with a lot of his stuff

Definitely worth it.

I saw him with Mitch Hedberg and Dave Attell around three years ago and all three were amazing.

Saw Lewis again two years ago at a free thing Ohio State put on. A lot of bits were repeats so it wasn't nearly as ROFLable as the first time.

If you don't know any of the bits though, GO. By now I assume he has a lot of newer material too.

This one's easy, just take this test:

Do you enjoy him and his comedy?

If you answered yes, go see him.
If you answered no, don't go see him.

Seeing Lewis Black at a small comedy club is awesome - he takes control of the audience. He does have one joke but it's a pretty damn good one.

If it's a larger venue he might disappoint.
