Another river dilemma
Upon looking at this hand now, I'm surprised I raised PF with two limpers. Should I have?
Full Tilt Poker Limit Holdem Ring game Limit: $2/$4 6 players Converter Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, CO calls, Hero raises, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls, CO calls. Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (10SB, 5 players) SB bets, 2 folds, CO calls, Hero raises, SB calls, CO calls. Wonderful! This is exactly what I wanted, I guess (well, I guess I could have flopped the flush). Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (8BB, 3 players) SB checks, CO checks, Hero bets, SB calls, CO folds. River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (10BB, 2 players) SB checks, Hero ...? I think that there's an excellent chance that SB has an ace based on his play. And if I bet and he calls, then in all likelihood, he does have it, and it will be with a better kicker. Is there value in betting this river? Do you think that a worse hand will call enough? |

Re: Another river dilemma
I think I call PF and bet the river if SB is aggressive otherwise check

Re: Another river dilemma
With the clubs on the board (and you having the ace of clubs), I'd expect SB to c/r the field with an ace. Pot's big, so SB will be looking for an excuse to look you up. So I say go ahead and bet.

Re: Another river dilemma
why are guys raising A5s otb with two limpers now? this is the second hand post ive seen where someone did this.
and there's probably a tiny amount of ev in a river bet. |

Re: Another river dilemma
When I went back to look at the hand (I made note that I wanted to post about it at the time), I noticed the PF raise, and am quite surprised with myself. Don't know why I did it... may have been an error associated with multi-tabling and not realizing there were already two limpers.

Re: Another river dilemma
I don't like the pf raise.
River is a clear value bet. A better kicker is a possibility, but so are tens, 6s, 7s, pocket pairs. Edit: missed the flop donk. River is close. Probably still worth betting, but I don't hate a check. |
