Default please let Byron Jacobs continue his HU series

Dynasty,

would be great if you let B. Jacobs continue his HU series he started two months ago. I thought it was an outstanding article and was really looking forward to his upcoming ones.

Byron's submission was rejected on its merits. We had a short e-mail discussion in which I proposed he reframe his article within the "100 Hands" idea I had suggested to others. But, that wasn't the direction he wanted to go in.

I did discuss this article in-person with Mason before the September Magazine was published.

Given the interest in Byron's writing, I will take another look at his submission. When I get volunteers for the peer review system, I'll also let them take a first-look at the submission.

Thanks for reconsidering. I wouldn't expect you to include substandard material in any issue however I enjoyed reading HGIYLH and was interested to see where Byron was going to go with his series.

I wouldn't describe Byron's submission as substandard.

The problem I had with Byron's submission was that he tried to describe an overall Small Blind basic strategy in just over 1,200 words. I don't think that's possible to do.

From what I understand Ed Miller asked Jacobs to write those HU articles in the first place, 2+2 went to him, and now the new editor is rejecting them. Nice.

I've also solicited articles from specific posters. But, if the poster returns with an article which doesn't meet the Magazine's standards, it's not going to get published.

I too would be interested in reading this article on heads-up play whether it be 1200 words or 19k words or somewhere in-betweeen.
thanks again for reconsidering.

I would suggest that instead of submitting one essay that Byron submit multiple essays which are each more detailed on certain aspects.
