Default Optimal way of exploiting maniacs pf overbets

100BB stacks

Villian raises to 10BB preflop every hand.
Villian will continuation bet every hand.
villian is seen as a maniac and will often overbet the pot.

Villian is in C/O
Hero is on button with k10o

folds to villian who opens to 10BB
Hero.....

This was a question posed on IRC. I felt the clear way to play this hand was to call and allow villian to hang himself.

Another member felt that 3-betting is better play if it can induce villain to start getting it AI pf with any-two. At which point hero can move on to more aggressive pre-flop value betting.

Why fight this guy with KTo? I wait for a better hand and then tangle with him. I understand he could have any two, but KT is not what i want to get involved with.

We're looking for an optimal strategy so folding is not really an option despite it being the safe and low variance way.

I was the one in favour of 3-betting. I think there are a lot of hands that crush this guy but which are extremely hard to play post-flop when faced with mindless aggression, so I'd much rather be able to just get it AI pf with hands like A8 or 55. One thing to think about is that we're not likely the only person at the table looking to abuse this aggro monkey, so stacking him as soon as possible is an issue we should be concerned with.

Also, are the other players at the table aware of what's going on? I think calling is bad if people at the table are trying to limp-reraise here. Are there any limps you? I think you can assume that anyone limping here has a good hand if they know what's going on.

If he is such a weak player, why would you want to take what MAY be a very small edge?

I would rather take a big edge postflop when I flop a pair then a small edge preflop.
