oopsy... waiting 3 weeks to call?
So about 3 weeks ago, I'm kinda sorta dating this chick. We'll call her Christy.
My dad comes home one night with the phone # of one of his customers, who he says, more respectfully than I'm about to say, is a hot thin blondie with nice titties. We'll call her Sabrina. She saw me in one of the family pictures my dad keeps on his desk and gave him her number for me to call. Of course, as we already established, I was dating Christy at the time, so I did not contact Sabrina. My situation has changed now and I'm dating no one. I'm going to call this other girl even though it's been 3 weeks. Why? The worst she can do is tell me to [censored] off. Oh no... the agony. I'll have bottle of whisky and a razorblade ready just in case. Anyway... the question is, what's the most +EP way to approach this? Surely I can't say "yeah, I didn't call you cause I was dating this other chick," nor can I lie and say "I lost your #." Any good ideas? Trip report to follow if I pull it off. I wouldn't say anything about how long it took you to call. If she asks just say something vague like, "It's been pretty crazy around here the last few weeks." If she asks what you mean, "What are you, writin a book? Well kiss my ass and make it a love story." Then get a hooker instead.

it's not like u were dating or have ever even TALKED
don't stress out about it just call her and talk to her and see if there is a connection or ask her out to lunch or something the 3 weeks should be a non-issue

Agreed with above posters - the time is irrelevant because of the circumstances of the situation.
She had your dad pass her info on - he might have just taken a long time to do it.
