Default Top 50 advertisers on the internet

I thought this was interesting. It is a listing of the top 50 advertisers on the internet based on media value.

I find it surprising that they aren't taking affiliate relationships into account. I'd imagine that this would change the data considerably. I'm assuming it is their subtle way of saying 'we don't have access to this data'.

I am surprised there are no gambling or adult sites in the top 50. The Internet is crawling with them.

Also if they took into affect affiliate programs i think companies like amazon.com and the adult/gambling sites might appear on the list.

this is because affiliates are looked at as free advertising... in a way. the parent site is not paying the affiliate to advertise by rev sharing.

if you were to look at top affiliate programs it would no doubt include amazon, porn, gambling.
