[censored] spot with an overpair (50NL)
Villian is an unknown, only played an orbit or two with him.

... pushes? [/ QUOTE ] This is the intuitive answer, I suppose, but on this board, how often do we get called by a worse hand? |

Re: [censored] spot with an overpair (50NL)
In a rrz'd pot its unlikely they have a flush or a str8. He limped in and cold called ur rrz pf, which is means he has a pair. So I would say either he has a set or combo draw with 77/JJ. I would just push and expect to win enough for those odds to be good.

You've managed to get a bunch of money in the pot with what appears to be the best hand. With thirty behind I don't see it as being anything but a push.

Re: [censored] spot with an overpair (50NL)
Your thinking probably applies better to situations where both you and villain have more money behind. i.e. you have AK, board K72, pot size $10 you have $40 behind so does villain. If you push $40 into this board, you're only called if you're beat.
In this case, you're happy to take it down if villain folds by betting $30 into a $42 pot. If you get A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K, A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q or JJ to fold you're happy. If they call, you're ahead and made a +EV play. Its too late at this point to all of a sudden to decide your hand is no good and muck... Re: [censored] spot with an overpair (50NL)
Yeah, in retrospect there really isn't enough behind to do anything here. Villian's limp-call and that board just seemed [censored] as hell for QQ. Pushing seems fine now that I look back at it.
FWIW, I won the hand, but the way it played out seemed really crappy. Edit: In general, I think one of my weak spots is getting confused in spots where stack size is between 0.75x and 1.5x pot when I have a hand that is marginal at best. There was another thread where someone had KK on a AQxx board where I really wasn't sure what to do on the turn. |

Re: [censored] spot with an overpair (50NL)
Villain cold called a preflop raise after a limp, so you can probably put him on pairs or maybe a strange way to play AK. It's a weird move and makes me question his play.
I think the flop bet is ok, but I give up after that. You're just so vulnerable to so many hands. |

C/F. These boards are some of the worse for big pocket pairs, especially OOP.
