Should I buy an XBox 360, or wait for PS3/Wii?

I've started to get a hankering for a new system, and I have a feeling other people have this same question. Here are the relevant facts about me:

1 - My last two systems were the PS1 and 2 - I liked both.
2 - I mostly play sports games, but will sometimes get other games, although usually ones that are geared toward an "older" audience
3 - Online play is important to me
4 - I don't care about Nintendo franchises
5 - Cost matters, but it wouldn't stop me from buying, say, PS3

I'd wait and see what happens with the Wii. The new controller is very inovative and could result in some crazy fun games IF they implement the new control features well.

Wait, seriously. You don't want to be ones of those guys that got a Dreamcast, a Saturn, a Gamecube,etc. Unless you have money to buy a new one if your first buy flops without caring about it (in which case, buy all three and have fun).

I am probably going to wait close to a year before buying anything. I need to see how PS3 pans out, and I want to know how commited MS is to the 360. Sorry, Nintendo, life long fan, but you won't be an option, unless Wii just totally owns.

Personally, you can't go wrong with the 360. I love mine.

And, think of it this way: You can buy a 360 AND a Wii for the price of a PS3, and you won't have to wait until God knows when to get it.

Could I buy a 360 at Costco, see how the PS3 and Wii look, and then return it for a refund if I decide to switch?

why don't you just buy a system when it has a game (or hopefully games) that you really want?
