Default **OFFICIAL Nebraska @ USC +18.5 ** (poohbah post)

This is a game I marked on my calendar once i saw the schedule...

I see a low scoring close game. I dont think the young USC defense could score 21+ points against the Corn Huskers D.

Possible upset special... Going to play Nebraska +18 1/2 and Moneyline +840.

A pro style vs. a west coast offense being low scoring.... How?

I go to UNL. Games are fun to watch.

Nonetheless, I disagree with your low scoring game prediction.

NE's corners are all hurt. Our secondary is shot to hell. Yes, our offense looked decent against Nicholas State and LA Tech, but against a much faster defense, I'm not so sure. I think that USC will tear our secondary to pieces. Our running game is much improved from last year, but then again, we havent really played anyone.

I predict 42-28 USC.

SC has had an extra week to prepare. NE is improved, but not ready for the big time.

Normally, a bye week is a significant advantage for a team, but in this case, usc would have been better served by playing a game last week. Why? This is a young, inexperienced team, which would have definitely benifitted by getting another game under their belt before playing the Huskers.

Also, usc might as well throw out the tape of the blackshirts last week, because they were playing an option team who only threw like 3 passes, and they didn't blitz once the entire game (after only blitzing 2 or 3 times against la. tech). The huskers offense has also been very vanilla the first 2 games (against La. Tech they ran the same stretch play like 22 times), so it's not like usc's coaches have a lot to work with there either.

Despite returning a lot of starters, Nebraska is a young team, so playing a game last week against an inferior opponent is a big plus for them.

I like Neb. vs. the spread 1. their big game of the Non-conference season
2. USC has read their press clippings from Ark. 3. teams rarely play that well twice. 4. shorter games
