Im expanding, need advice
I own a 10 miniutes oil change. The business is only a year old, but doing good. I was thinking off getting into mobile oil changes. The problem is I dont see how this could make more than $500 a week at best due to the overhead of one employee hustling business and doing the oil changes.
I am looking for suggestions...what are some other types of services or products I could get into tht might compliment a mobile oil change business? If I could combine two small businesses and perform both with the same employee, then it might be worthwhile. any ideas? |

Re: Im expanding, need advice
The only thing that comes to mind is some kind of carwashing/detail service.
I'm not sure if anyone's doing it, but why can't you just come pick my car up at home or work - service it - and bring it back? I'd pay $10-$20 extra. |

Re: Im expanding, need advice
My suggestion? Your analysis is correct. Don't do it.
Mobile anything is TOUGH because your customers don't consider you a real business if you don't have a B&M location. Plus, you don't really have any customers. Your guy hustling the business does. What's to stop him from quitting you and taking your customer base with him? Nothing! If you want to expand, save up enough capital until you can buy four more oil change deals, and then try to buy one every four to six months after you get your first one to run right. Anyway, that's my suggestion. |
