Best free reminder service for maintenance?

I recently bought a used car and was wondering what the best way to automatically get reminders to perform routine maintenance is? Is there somewhere that emails or text messages you automatically based on time intervals that you have set up? I'm looking for more than "just put it on your Outlook calendar". For some reason, I'd rather a message be sent to me. I found one site by googling that had a charge, but I couldn't find much else. Thanks in advance for any help.

I deviate from the maintenance schedule a tad. I try to change oil and rotate tires every multiple of 5000 on odometer (I use synthetic, probably overkill) you might change air filter every 10K multiple, and so on. Works for me so far.
