8-tabling? (lc)
I saw a guy 8-tabling 100NL full-ring last night. He had typical TAG stats (19/5/1.5). Do 8-tablers basically nut-peddle, set-farm? I can't imagine that they're developing reads on 64 players. I think you get a lot of information on someone who's 8-tabling. For example,
- if they're nut-peddling, set-farming, you can stay away from them when they wake up - since they're sort of on auto-pilot, they'll cbet automatically - steal their blinds more often - they probably stay away from marginal hands/situations - they can't be that aware of what's going on at a particular table Thoughts? |

Re: 8-tabling? (lc)
All the above looks true. If this guy shows interest in pot I would stay away, and try and take some pots he does not seem interested in.

Re: 8-tabling? (lc)
with practice, you can get decent reads on alot of people just based on betting pattern/ stat display.

Re: 8-tabling? (lc)
can you 10 table $100nl profitably? I just moved up to $50nl, I can see it still being possible there, but $100NL?

Re: 8-tabling? (lc)
Well if you are 8 tabling, you do get to datamine a lot as a bonus .. and well, since reads these day are all about numbers like 15.4/6.7, then a HUD does the job of delivering reads quite nicely

Re: 8-tabling? (lc)
8-tablers give up some value by having a lack of reads and playing a little tighter than optimal. However, the good ones more than make that up in the sheer number of hands that they see and play.

[ QUOTE ] - since they're sort of on auto-pilot, they'll cbet automatically [/ QUOTE ] - I don't exactly cbet automatically but I do it around 90% of the time, not because I'm on auto-pilot but because I need all the conditios to be horrible for me to consider not trying to take a pot where I'm the agressor. [ QUOTE ] - steal their blinds more often [/ QUOTE ] - I hate playing from the blinds even against late position raisers, I think I'd still be pretty tight from the blinds if I just played one table. [ QUOTE ] - they probably stay away from marginal hands/situations [/ QUOTE ] Check above [ QUOTE ] - they can't be that aware of what's going on at a particular table [/ QUOTE ] I used to 5table on one monitor, 8 tabling on two monitors is paradise for me, I'm always 100% aware of table dynamics for every table and I think I do reasonable job adapting. Individual players reads are obviously not easy but there are plenty of players that stand out from the crowd (the rocks, the maniacs etc). |

Re: 8-tabling? (lc)
I 6 table 6max NL$100 on one monitor... it's fine, I get reads. I imagine iwth 2 monitors 8 tables would be fine for reads after a while.

I can't imagine that they're developing reads on 72 players. [/ QUOTE ] FYP |
