Re: QQ in capped pre-flop
Even though he's a maniac, I thought that since he 3-bet on the flop, he must have at least one high card or a pocket pair, in which case he could have me beat. I also wasn't sure what the weak-tight UTG+1 had to make him keep calling pre-flop. I would've probably raised after the flop if UTG+1 was behind me, in case he was on a flush draw.

Re: QQ in capped pre-flop
it's easier for people to see your reads if you put them at the top of your post.
hmm... i think i throw in a raise on the flop. getting BB to 3bet is your best shot at protecting your hand against UTG. other than that, there's not much you can do but get to showdown and hope your hand holds up. |

Re: QQ in capped pre-flop
How many hands are your observations over? I'm guessing that it's not too many with BB playing 92% of hands!
I'd play the preflop the same. I'm raising the flop. I'd want to force JJ & TT out. You probably won't get rid of flush draws for 1 SB, but you might. If BB re-raises, I'm calling & c/f the turn unimproved. |

[/ QUOTE ] the tard is raising > quarter of is hands. that is more than the VPIP of most posters here. You have monster against his range...be be be aggresive. how many chips you put in the middle against a maniac can be dependent on your pain tolerance for when he actually has a hand or makes a brutal suckout. I really want to get this HU so I like tylers suggestion or raising the flop then play it from there. as played, once UTG folds, I would raise the river.... |

Re: QQ in capped pre-flop
It was about 30 hands for BB. He really was that loose, but he was also up by $100, which tells me that he probably wasn't a total loon.

[/ QUOTE ] 30 hands isnt much but when these sort of players are at your table it should take few hands to work out they are full of [censored] when they bet. All that $100 means is that he was getting lucky. I played at a table the other night with a similar loon. He was sucking out left right and centre...but eventually the table busted him. Against these guys Im looking to get HU with them, Ill try and get to SD with a marginal hand but when I have a big hand Im going to punish him as much as I dare. now even idiots get big hands like AA and KK in this spot but thems the breaks.... |
