Has anybody totally turned off their chat online?

I have and I find that i tilt less, a bunch less. I was wondering if anyone else has tried this.

I still have it on, but I ignore it 100% of the time.

oh yea, mine's off 95% of the time.

Just remember to turn it on for the MTT's at the final table if you're looking to make a deal.

i turn it off on alot of ppl, but i think im gonna turn it off all together now.

funny you brought this up. I turn it off most of the time, but I actually had party poker ban me from chat because I used to talk a lot of trash to people and get myself all wound up. I am banned from chat for 2 years ha.

I usually have it on about half of the time. Sometimes you can pick up when someone's tilting faster by the chat box, but most of the time it's useless. Also, after you realize they're tilting, you're really just better turning it off, because now that you have your read, all seeing more of their chat will do is piss you off and get you to play suboptimally. Finally, on Party you can't see the action of the hand in the little window right under the game unless the "no player chat" option is on which makes it much more convenient to leave it off if you're not getting any specific input.

I like using the chat. I like when two idiots get an argument about strategy because someone drew out and they completely give away the type of player they are. Its great to throw out inane comments as well.

Ha ha, sometimes I'll argue with somebody when I know its wrong. Almost always with one of the players that starts bad mouthing a fish. I find it funny and I know it pisses them off. Although there are times where I think it makes me play worse, since I'm not paying attention as much.

I used to have it off at all times. Nowadays I mostly have it on(although I ignore some people). I think it's a good way to find out more information about your opponents play as most people basically give away their actual hands or thinking etc by their chat. Also it's fun to say hi to people I know/people who know me.
