Default Steelers vs Jags Next Monday

Steelers - 1 +110. Am I missing something here? Wouldn't the steelers stomp the jags pretty consistently?

Why are the Jaguars so underrated? They went 12-4 last year while the Steelers went 11-5...yes obviously they had a better run in the playoffs, but still.

The Jaguars beat a pretty good Cowboys team in week one too.

And yet this game is in Jacksonville and you're complaining about Pit only being a 1 point favorite? Even without Big Ben???

I'm all over the Jags here. I think the true line should be Jags -2.5.

I agree with Assani...which has been rare so far this year (surprisingly...I don't know you AF, but just from sheer numbers we should agree more often than we do, haha)....

Jaguars are so underrated. I think it is because they simply aren't flashy. They have a "mediocre" running back in Fred Taylor (who is also underrated..when not injured)...Not too mention the stable of other RB they have.

The passing game isn't the prettiest thing either. I think it is just the thing where...in the world of fantasy football..no one really considers the Jags as being good because they don't blow up the scoreboard.

Not only were the Jags 12-4 but they played a very tough schedule as well.

I dunno. I don't really think not having Big Ben makes as big of a difference as people thought. Esp after they stomped the dolphins without him. I thought the Steelers looked really good. The jags played good too against the cowboys once they got things going but I wouldn't take the jags. I might just not take it at all. I dunno, I just glanced at it and thought it looked off.

exactly. In addition to playing Indy twice they also played Seattle, Denver, Pittsburgh, and Cincinatti.

Pretty impressive to go 12-4.

[/ QUOTE ]The Steelers were very poor last year without Big Ben, who is one of the best QBs in the game imho. And I disagree that they 'stomped' the Dolphins. They were trailing late when they got an 80 yard TD pass that upon further review shouldn't have been a TD. Then they added a late defensive score when the Dolphins needed to take some chances to win.

And just for the record, Jacksonville went into Pittsburgh last year and won by a touchdown. I don't recall if Big Ben played that game or not.

That was week 6 Maddox was the QB.
Roethlisberger retuned from injury the following week in Cincinnati.

Yes. Maddox gave that game away. He fumbled down at the Jags 20 yard line late in the game without being touched. Then later he threw the INT which was returned for a TD to lose it.

I agree that Batch is no Big Ben but he is definately an improvement over Maddox.
