i don't think unknowns are betting a ten, 99, or anything short of an ace in this hand after your turn check-call on that board. KK/QQ is unlikely obv, and i don't think you're getting a call from a decent bet on the riv, so I think an underbet (folding to a raise) or check are fine.

c/c river unless he bets very large.

Then again, his line looks very floaty, like TT-22 floaty.

What with the zeebo theorem, you could probably get him for a 1/2 pot value bet. Fold to a raise, obviously.

I think the check is not a bad choice. You allow him to take a stab at it. If you are ahead let him bet your better hand. Betting the turn, looks like betting a scare card. If you bet the river you don't want to get reraised. You'd have to fold. No question.

i like value betting for 1/2 pot on riv as opposed to c/c. We don't find anything about our opponent's hand by just c/c... and if villain does something like bet pot we are in a tough spot as he is representing the ace, but at the same time we have given him license to represent this hand.

If you bet the river and are raised, you can muck it knowing you are almost always beat here. Also, hands like 99, some other PPs and a ten will call.

but like i said, although c/c may induce a bluff, we dont gain enough information and are basically taking a shot in the dark when faced with any significant river bets.

I don't mind a bet on the river, but I would actually prefer a check or a small (1/3 potish) bet for a few reasons. I think his most likely holdings by the river are pp's ranging from 88-KK (QQ/KK obviously being somewhat unlikely due to pf), followed by a bluff, and then something like 87. Now most people at 5/10 would fold 88/99/7x to a reasonable river bet, as your line does not look weak by any means if you're betting the river.

Now if you check, while they likely will check behind 88/99/7x, they may bet again if bluffing which you could pick off. Now while a smallish bet may actually be a good, if not the best choice, you have to worry about playing the guessing game if they raise your small river bet. Checking is definitely the safest choice, and probably the most profitable as well.
