Re: KK 3-way to turn
I think you have to bet that turn. As played, fold the river, but I think betting the turn will at least give you a free showdown, or possibly give you the pot there.

Re: KK 3-way to turn
Why do you think you are behind? BB doesn't show aggression until everyone checks the turn.

Re: KK 3-way to turn
It's not that I necessarily think I am behind, but I do think that the two callers on the flop indicates some strength and I guess I was a little scared one of them was trapping (which it seems like everyone is to me since I've been playing NL).
Against one opponent I bet for sure. In this pot I was unsure if I should be putting my last 200 in the pot or not. I felt that betting the turn would commit me to putting the rest of my chips in the pot. What bet size could I make that would give me room to fold, and yet not set me up to get outplayed by a semi-bluff. $65 would leave me with 135 behind and a pot of at least 165. Honestly, I probably will not want to fold here if I get put to the test. Maybe that is the correct size to bet? Honestly, if a 2 or similar blank card comes off on the river I was prepared to call, but I wanted to see the river and make an assesment at that time. I'm fumbling around here and it's why I posted. It could be I was simply afraid to go broke with one pair in this pot, and that may be a problem. I would really like to hear more reasoning behind the turn bet (hand ranges for opponents, how much to bet, how to respond to opponents reaction to these bets, etc.) |

Re: KK 3-way to turn
Lead the turn. You might be facing a slow played set or 6,7 but it's a pretty dangerous board so it's more likely those hands would raise.
Also, on the river, what has you beat? Other than 6 7? I can't see QJ or J7 getting involved here? |

Re: KK 3-way to turn
any set has him beat as well. i really hate facing unwarranted aggression from unknowns because you can't tell if he's a donk or if he's actually just trying to trap you with a set.
it's especially hard to read the villain because you're betting big enough, as you stated, to stack urself in the case you are beat, so he doesn't need to raise you on any streets. as played, folding seems ok. however, i'd still bet the turn and play it from there. checking the turn only made the river play harder. it's still a tough hand though, but I think you have too much equity in the pot to check behind on the turn. I would bet around 24 on the flop, just so that if villain did have a set, he would be more inclined to raise, as the bet size is smaller. however, because SB calls as well, the pot gets ridiculously inflated, but bet turn nonetheless |
