should we consider a turn check here for pot control?

Re: JJ from the SB?
Should I possibly have bet less on the turn? I was pretty sure I was beat but I felt like they've got a worse hand enough to call the last $11.
If we check and he pots it at us what then? |

Re: JJ from the SB?
Do you fold to a bet if you check the turn?

Re: JJ from the SB?
you're fine. why would you try to control the pot on the turn? the other guy only has $11 left and is more likely to put it in on the turn with a draw then on the river if he misses.
Its fine- call the two dollars and river a gutshot. :-) |

Re: JJ from the SB?
I think that my PSB on the turn was definitely a mistake. It makes it real hard for worse hands to call, and also very hard for a cashdonk like me to fold getting whatever to one pot odds.
I don't know if I like checking the turn. It seems like it makes for a very tough river decsion for us on a lot of cards, added to the fact we're OOP. How does everyone feel about a $5 bet on the turn, folding to a push? I feel like that bet gets value, protects our hand and lets us fold fairly confidently to further heat in the hand. |
