Basic satelllite questions
Satellite to the PS $1mm
26 left, 21 qualify, 22nd gets booby prize (2/3 of ticket). I lost, but that is not the point. Blinds just went up to 3k/6k/300 ante. Table has been frisky, with three active players (including SB on this hand). Big stack SB calls. Question 1 - raise or see the flop? I have 6k in and 5.5k behind in a 14.1k pot. SB will call any bet. My thought was to save the chips and fold on any questionable flop. Question 2 - top pair on monotone board where I have the 2 of that suit. I get a questionable flop. SB puts me all in, as he should. Can I call? (I obviously did) Or is proper satellite strategy as a low-stack to fold and pray? Note that I would be able to survive for 7 more hands, tops, and if I fold I would be the low stack. If I win the hand, I can easily fold into the money, given my table position. Here's the hand: PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t6000 (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver) SB (t51215) Hero (t11855) UTG (t20180) UTG+1 (t42345) MP1 (t48048) MP2 (t7680) CO (t8670) Button (t13860) Preflop: Hero is BB with 2, A.
