Default Calling with weak hands preflop

I read something in Sklansky on Poker which I found interesting. I want to see what you all think.

You're playing in a 6-max NLHE game with 100BB stacks and you are on the button with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Forget about raising and folding for now. A player in early position raises it to 4xBB. If it is of any relevance assume that you are at least as good, maybe better, than the other players.

Are you more likely to call if it's been folded around to you, or if there have been two calls in front of you?

Well heads up Tc7c isn't that strong of a hand. However, Tc7c can be a big winner in a multi-way pot if you happen to make a flush or a straight.

Ideally I'd want the callers, but with 100BB behind and on the button, I'm guessing he says it's a call either way.

With the assumption that I am the better player....

If initial raiser is loose I want to play him heads up with position.

If he is tight, I'm going to need better pot odds against his likely holding.

great question, i think its also important the other potential players in the hand.

though being honest, as an amateur i would prefer the hand against more opponents for the rare occasions i actually flop a monster/ monster draw.

i think the play in 6-max is generally pretty loose and i'll play T7s in some spots, but im not really good enough to make it profitable all the time- esp. against tricky opponents and especially when i'll often be faced with difficult post-flop decisions if i make middle pair or even top pair,,,

two callers i think here, hu 10 7 is a crap hand and as he raised pre he may make a continuation bet and u will be forced to fold. multiway it will be harder for him to steal the pot. also multiway your implied odds if u hit will be much greater.

Easier to win a big pot when you flop big if you have more callers, but it's much easier to win without a showdown heads up in position.
