Default A lock for sunday (football)

I joined a football pool, with half the money going to a good cause. I figured it might give me some good carma to put even a little of my mansion winnings to a good use. That doesn't change the fact that I want to win.

All you have to do is pick a sure winner each sunday. I don't follow football very closely, exspecialy during off season. There are no point spreads involved so this shouldn't be too hard. I was hopeing I could get some help the first few weeks untill I can manage on my own by the teams records and whatnot.

Could I get a little help from you sports guys. Who would you "bet the farm" on if you had to. Week 2 and 3 picks are welcomed also.. Thanks.

It's not about "who you would bet the farm on if you had to", It's which pick is the best value considering future games.

I'm going with Arizona.

New England is the biggest favorite, and I would pick them.

I am a proponent of just taking the biggest favorite each week early in the season, with the idea being that it's hard to look at week 9 and be positive about who'll be good and who won't. I think people underestimate the number of good opportunities that arise later, and get too tricky early.

Arizona is the other good choice. I don't see any reason to pick anyone other than New England or Arizona.

I think you got to look long-term and not waste the good teams early in a survival league. What good will it do for you to survive to week 10, only to end up having to pick a the winner of San Fran vs Arizona to advance?
