Bally's; Paris; Excalibur; Tropicana, Flamingo, Harrahs, & Imperial Palace.

All are relatively small tourist based rooms that are not to be taken too seriously.

I considered putting MGM on the list, but many regulars have started playing there due to their young internet player reputation.

Are all of those rooms you mention have 1/2 NL games with 100Min/200Max? If not then which is which?

Ballys: 1/2 $300 Max
Paris: 1/2 $300 Max
Excalibur: 1/3 $200 Max
Tropicana: 1/2 $100 max
Flamingo: 2/5 $300 Max
Harrahs: 1/2 $120 max
Imperial Palace: 1/2 $200 max

Minimums vary from $40 to $100. See www.allvegaspoker.com for more details.

I excluded rooms like CP and Treasure Island, as they have higher max buy ins (both max at $500).

There is also a 1/2 $50 MAX buy in at Luxor, but I do not recommend it despite its very low max buy in, unless you like all in fests.

I've played the nl games at both Bally's and Excalibur, and both have been pretty juicy everytime I've been there.

I think the Monte Carlo (100-200) would fit in this list very well.

I intentionally left MC off the list due to two factors:

1. The sporadic nature of the NL spread. It is usually spread afternoons/evenings only, though when it is spread on weekends, it will indeed get 2-3 tables.

2. The heavily locals base that the room has, due to its discounted blinds on the limit game, and long standing nature of the room (i.e. the room has been there since 1997, and has built a solid base).

ah, gotcha. I only played there during the WSOP, and thought it would be nice for a beginner since the room wasn't giant and the players suuuuuuuuucked on ice. I can definitely see that it might be more tight locals. However, maybe for a NL newbie, a tight/passive game would be easier at first than a spastic lagtard game.
