when he check calls the turn i'd beworried that i am beat or think he has the straight and is scard of the flush. the river bet is an autocall imo.

Re: Not nut flush - How would you play this hand?
That river bet sort of looks like a block to me.
I'd raise AI I'm guessing his range is something like two pair or a straight I don't think you're beat very often here. |

Re: Not nut flush - How would you play this hand?
Call the river, he isn't folding a better flush and while he 'might' call a push for ~$50 more with a straight, I doubt it makes up for the times he has a better flush or just folds.

Interested to know how you would have played this hand. [/ QUOTE ] I would have re-raised pf, c-bet, and c/r turn a-i. Calling speculative hands like this oop in a raised pot sux. Just fold pf if ur not raising. As played, just push river. I'm never folding a baby flush on a 3-flush board for less than 150BB. JA |

Re: Not nut flush - How would you play this hand?
While he could have a higher flush, it's much more likely that he holds two pair or a straight.
Even a slight chance that he'd call with either a straight or two pair makes going all-in a viable option. If he does infact hold a higher flush, what two diamonds is he holding? Here are the possibilities: 86, 9T, JT 89d, AJd, Ax are raising the flop in all likelyhood. AKd is raising somewhere too There are 11 combos of AJ (that aren't two diamonds) that might call the flop. You can discount some of the AJ combos slightly (namely the ones without diamonds). KQ is also a definite possibility. There are 9 combos left that might play this way. In conclusion, while he may have a higher flush, a straight or two pair are much more likely. I haven't even included the slight possibility that he has a set |

Re: Not nut flush - How would you play this hand?
Fold PF. Don't think that's ever a call or raise for me. OK, maybe a call once in a while for 2X, but not routine.
As played, I like flop and turn. After the block bet, I definately raise, not push. Push gets calls by higher flushes, folds even the nut str8 IMHO. My raise is villain dependant and since your read is as a "solid" playah, I would call the $29.75 and raise $35-40 more.... if villain was deep. In this case, mini raise puts him all-in so hit the Donk Raise button and smile. |
