Long Run?
I am a losing player, not because I'm a completely terrible player, but I seem to run into extremely poor, but lucky people. These losses turn mostly into frustration but not anger) followed by a minor case of tilting.
I know that in the long-run, when some jackass plays poorly and makes incorrect plays, I gain & vice versa. What if I'm not around in the long-run? Situation #1 10+1 MTT on Full Tilt from 280 down to 72. Some idiot marries himself to A-10off for 80% of his chips pre-flop and busts my KK. Situation #2, 3, 4, & 5 (my usual) $1-$2 or $2-$4 LHE Ring Game on Full Tilt 2 Limpers limp, I raise in LP with QQ, KK, or AA. BB & Limpers call. Flop is ragged, but no set for me (J-7-2 rainbow). Someone bets, I raise, everyone else folds, bettor calls. Turn is an offsuit 3. He checks, I bet, he calls. River is another 7. He checks, I bet, he raises, I call. He's got K7off and takes a $50 pot. This crap happens constantly. |

Re: Long Run?
If you're not around in the long run, then poker becomes pure gambling (ie, more so than it was before), with you having slightly the best of it (if you're a good player).
If you're a losing player because of bad beats, then you haven't been around long enough to even determine whether you're a winning or a losing player anyway. |
