Advice on all streets wanted:
Should I have played this faster, earlier in the hand? My plan was to cr the turn, but that didn't work out... Should I have just called the 1st raise on the river? I c/r the flop ... CO flop bet is standard, and if you raise he may just think you're trying to push him off his eights, with a smaller pocket pair.
a c/c on the flop is a little suspicious to me ... the flop is super dry, and unless he has a 'calls down with small pairs or ace' read then I can't see a turn bet from him. I think you'll get more $ from a c/r ... he may even stubbornly call you down with his small pair (if he hits his two outer ... o-well) |

I like to bet/call the flop, check/raise the turn, and play the guitar on my MTV.

Im guessing the guy had a 88, I think there is no way you are winning this the way you played it. Without the c/r on the flop I wouldn't have given you credit for the Qs. Then you check on the turn, At this point If I was the villian I would put you on missed Ax. Then his 8 came and by the time you felt like playing you were beat.
I personally don't like to slowplay many hands, maybe flopped full houses, and thats it. |
