Default NL100: Blind battle - good draw in SB

NL100 5-handed

Hero $200
BB $100. No read, as this player sat down an orbit ago.

Hero has 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in SB.
Folded to Hero who makes it $4, BB calls.

Flop is 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. ($8 pot)
Hero bets $4, BB makes it $10, Hero calls.

Turn is T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. ($28 pot)
Hero check, BB makes it $20, Hero folds.

I didn't like how I played this hand, but I can't pinpoint what I should've done differently. I had a nice draw on the flop, and wish I gave myself a better opportunity to win the hand. Any suggestions?

Well if he has an ace you dont have a whole lot of FE considering that its a blind battle so the flop call is ok... but call the turn please!

You have 46% equity here vs an ace and 42% equity vs 2 pair. I think that calls for a reraise on the flop.

Repopping the flop is something to consider with 12 outs, but not standard or anything.

I think this is fine, and calling the turn would be bad cause you're OOP and it's gonna be difficult to get paid off even if you do hit.

Although may not have alot of fold equity, reraising the flop can get us a cheap turn card and sometimes free turn card, which is why I prefer it. It's also how I would play a set so I also like it for the metagame.

Calling the turn is suicide here. we only have about 27% equity on the turn, and it's going to be hard to get paid on the river OOP if our draw comes in.

I pot the flop because it makes stack sizes nicer, plus if he raises we can 3-bet with tons of equity.
