there are almost no omaha specialists, but there's a ton of holdem specialists. Also, all the bigtime holdem winners are playing omaha w/o too much experience.

I'm glad someone with a lot of knowledge and experience of these high stakes games sorted that out for us.

makes sense, but this leads to the question:

would full tilt mgmt. rather have a couple big games that unknown internet players will occasionally stumble into as big dogs (O/8, PLO) or more big games that unknown internet players will take shots at as live dogs or even favorites (LHE/NLHE)?

KBZ,

Doesn't matter. Very few players play any of those games anyway. But having games of this magnitude with players of this level is a marketing homerun for FT.

Many of the pros aren't good NLHE cash game players at all. Barry Greenstein said that after he played on High Stakes Poker he was apalled(sp) at how poorly a lot of the guys played. Barry G, Doyle Brunson and many of the internet pros turned big names i.e. D'Agostino, have played NLHE cash games. Most of the big names have very very little experience in NLHE cash games as they weren't popular before the internet boom and therefore weren't played until recently. That's why there are no monstrous NLHE cash games going on online, and the play is often quite atrocious on High Stakes Poker.

I don't think I agree with you 100%. clearly, the games have generated internet/forum/blog buzz. I would guess, though, that the vast majority of people reading/discussing said buzz already knew about Full Tilt. IE, I don't they they are reaching that many new players with this 'campaign'.
