Default 50nl Flopped Trips Line Check

So this is my first SSNL post. Just wanted to check my line here. I'm thinking I should probably check behind on the river, but what do you guys think? Thanks for the help. Let me know if there's anything I should correct/include for future strategy posts.

Edit: This was my first hand at the table, I believe, so no reads.

I'd prefer to bet the full pot on the flop and turn, villain won't have much left at this point, and it will be an easy push that he will likely have to call given the potsize. If you ran into a boat that's just badluck but you shouldn't check behind on this river either. Villain was in the big blind and very likely has a worse 4 that you don't want to let off cheaply.

I might bet more on flop. There are lots of draws out and you need to protect your hand.

If you had a weaker kicker or villian had a full stack, I think maybe you could play this differently, but with this hand against a short stack villian I think turn and river play is fine (if he had $50 and pushed over your river bet, I think you could fold).

K, thanks, that's kind of what I was thinking too. I figured he'd bet the river with a boat, fearing that I'd check behind, so I bet hoping to induce a call from an overpair/worse 4. When he pushed, I thought I was beat, but it wasn't that much more to me, and I figured there was a decent chance he had overpair/lower 4.

Yeah, I should probably have bet more on flop.

Villain had 99, btw, for the rivered boat.
