Default Re: Misplayed Turned Flush?

I don't see anything wrong with what you did. There's a chance that you're beaten here. But also just as much of chance that you're collecting from two pair or trips.

You have to lead out on the turn to protect the baby flush from a 4th heart on the river. Opponent could easily have slowplayed a set of Aces', 5's or an Ace, and read your turn lead as a semibluff.

What are the ways opponent flushes here? Hands like AKh, AQh, AJh, KQh are probably out because those are raising hands. That leaves KJh, QJh, Q8h, J8h which are much much less likely, meaning the opponent is very likely not flushed.

I think the river check call is prudent, because any flush isn't going anywhere and any flush beats you. Also, any stronger hand less than a flush may think the hand is good (the turn call and river check sells that thought) and bet it for value.
