Turn trips against very aggressive opponent

Okay, so this is a European player. You know, one with the funky names no one can pronounce. I have found they are often VERY aggressive. Sometimes with a hand, and a lot of times with air. So I figure if he does have a hand, perhaps I can get lucky and bust him, and if he doesnt, he may bluff a lot of chips off to me. So I call with 9d7d, of course.
So I flop a seven, not great but not horrible. At this point I'm not really sure if I'm ahead or not, so I just call. Turn is another 7, and now I'm pretty sure I'm ahead, unless he was raising 88 or like A7, in which case I'm going broke. Now he bets 40. So now it looks more like he has a big pair. If he does have a big pair, he's got 2 outs, so i'm in very good shape. If he has air, I think the only way I'm extracting more value is by calling and not raising. The only other problem is the flush draw. He could possibly be c-betting a flush draw with overs, of course which he can make and lose to a boat. Should I be raising here because of the flush? There is also the straight potential with say 56, 69 or 9T.
