Default 1/2 KJo in the BB.

UTG is 9/4 after about 55 hands, I think he is limping either with a small pair, Ak-Aq.

Co is has a V$ip of 30+. I could see him limping with just about anything.

PokerRoom 1/2 Hold'em (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 3 folds, CO calls, 2 folds, Hero checks.

Flop: (3.50 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero bets, UTG+1 raises, CO calls, Hero 3-bets, UTG+1 folds, CO calls.

What do you guys think about the 3-bet here. I figure a 3-Bet will give me more information about where I am and hopefully get one person to fold, if the not both of them.

Turn: (5.75 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.

With the flush hitting I see no other option then to bet at it and hope to get it here. The CO is very wild and could have anything.

River: (7.75 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.

Another 8 at this point I just want to scream. A lot of hands beat me. At this point I close my eyes, bet and see what happens.

Final Pot: 9.75 BB

What does everyone think about how I played this, to aggro? Or maybe just spewing into a much better hand.

I like the flop 3-bet. You have top pair with a good kicker on moderately coordinated board, based on your reads there is no reason to slow down yet.

Turn bet is good, checking that would be way too weak.

Obviously a suck river card but a good move. Remember, if check and were planning on calling a bet I think it is better in this case to bet yourself. If you would have folded to a bet (I wouldn't) then just check.. Like you said, he could have anything - don't give him a credit for a flush or and 8.

Without a read against an unknown loose player I play it the same.
For the river: Can we fold a better hand with a bet? virtually never.
Will our river bet be called by a worse hand at least 50% of the time? Given the fact that villain is loose ("V$ip of 30+") and did nothing but call up to now, we can assume he is somewhat passive too (he might have raised a made flush hu on the turn). Therefore I think betting the river could be +ev.

I think this is an interesting hand, I'm surprised more people haven't commented on it.

Personally, when I flop TP from the blinds and that TP is K,Q, I go for a c/r - and I lead the Turn.
A lot of people will say this is risky because of the possibility of it being checked around, but I still prefer the c/r because it doesn't get checked around all that often, especially on a drawy board. Also, if it's checked around, as long as a scare card doesn't Turn, then everyone seemed weak, and I assume my hand is good.
That being said, your hand is a little better than a typical TP hand from the blind because you have a good kicker. People like playing Kxs just like they play Axs, so I think that you feel pretty good as far as a kicker goes. So, maybe leading the flop is better, and I agree that 3-betting is good too because of the likely-hood that he is raising with a weak K or a draw.

Ok. So, what is the best line on the river. When someone just keeps calling like this on the flop and turn, I get the sense that they are sandbagging more often then they are calling down with a weak made hand. I prefer a c/c to a b/f. I definately think you should muck if your bet gets raised on this river.

I'm not sure if it's because I've been away from online play for a week or what, but I'm pretty confused about this hand and how to handle it. I wrote what I would have done, but I'm not too confident about it. Someone please tell me I'm wrong or I'm right, and why.

This hand is perfectly standard. Not 3betting there would be pretty horrible, as would doing most anything else on the river.

You played this hand well. I like the bet on the river. If you get raised you can safely say loose CO has called down with 8's and you can fold.

The only thing I have a problem with on this hand is your lack of read on the man who plays 30% of his hands. Surely there has to be some semblance of information as to how he plays 30% of his hands. Not very well would be a very good read after seeing this hand played out.

If good players continually read people with 30% VPIP as 'wild' then that could explain why I win as much as I do.

There is a big difference between a calling station, a gambler and a devil all who play around 30% or greater.

I don't think I would fold on the river if he reraised me here with the pot size the way it is.

Your line seems pretty standard to me. I think I would have played it the same way. It's not too aggro.

Also, considering you are getting 10.75:1 on a river raise folding seems reaallllly bad to me. If Villain has a VP$P of 30% and is passive like he showed himself to be he could have anything really. Do you really think a river raise to your bet has you beat 92% of the time? I think you have to call a raise on the river.

But as I mentioned before, I think your play is fine for this hand.
