Default $100 SNG, First Hand

This is the first hand of a $100 HUSNG.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (2 handed)

Button (t1530)
Hero (t1470)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
Button calls t10, Hero checks.

Flop: (t40) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks.

Turn: (t40) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets t40, Button calls t40.

River: (t120) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets t120, Button raises to t780, Hero ???

Final Pot: t1680

I'll post my thoughts once I get some feedback.

Hero should bet half the pot on the flop as a probing bet. If called, perhaps he could slowplay the turn.

As for the river, given how the earlier streets were played by hero, I would move in.

Call.

Your minbet on the turn is the "i am being sneaky and pretending i have trips, but villian thinks i really don't cuz i only minbet, but i really do have trips!" type of bet. I do it all the time!!! This time it seems to pay off when he tries to use his position and get you off the hand. BUT, what type of player is this guy, i.e. have you played him before?

3-bettin the river would be awful.

It's the 1st hand and we are either way ahead here or way behind. we need him to have a baby 4 for us to win and TBH when he calls he most likely has us beat.

That being said, the blinds are still small and you have a big hand and no info on this guy, you must call.

I also check the flop.

Given the line you took i think you must call. I would expect him to hold 67 here pretty often though.

He probably has you beat here with 67, but you should call or you could fold since you only have like 150 chips in play. Plus a set is also likely

Getting 1.5:1 odds on the river, if you think you have the best hand 40% of the time you have a break-even call. What do we know about this big bet? It is either a big bluff or a value bet with a great hand. Only a complete donk would raise that much on the river with a mediocre hand.
Honestly, I strongly suspect this guy has a really good hand like a straight or a full boat. This is because I almost never see people risk so many chips with a bluff. I would fold and perserve your chips for a better spot.
