$100 nl - TPTK line check
Hero is new to the table, no read, effective stacks $100. I've tried to make a resolution to not go broke with TPTK and I keep breaking it.
Preflop I would think he'd raise QQ AK+, call with pairs or other random holdings. On the flop with the min raise, I can't help but think he's playing a set or overpair poorly. So do I give up on the flop and fold to the min raise? That seems super weak. If I call, what about that 1/2 pot turn bet... Don't know why, but situations like this have been giving me a bit of -bankroll lately... Comments? Thanks! Re: $100 nl - TPTK line check
The board is draw dead, so he's either got a QQ/KK/AA, Q, 77, or 22 usually (meaning that turn 2 is good for you). Against an unknown, I like a turn call. If he bets again on the river, then strongly consider folding (esp. if it's big). Reads help a lot here...

Re: $100 nl - TPTK line check
Its clearly an easier hand to play with a read...
His check raise on flop can mean a lot of hand. The 1/3pot bet on turn complicate the hand. He etheir can have a 88 99 TT JJ QJ KJ and you call scared him, or he made is boat and he want a call... My gest is call and see what happen on the river |
