Default Rusty At MTT\'s : Need Checkup

Been a while since I've played in a MTT, so I had to think about this. Next time I want it to be automatic. Sorry I don't have the exact HH, but the file got deleted somehow. It's the Party 20K from last night. Blinds at 30 / 60 I think, no reads on opponent as I just got moved and this is my first hand.

My stack is a tad above beginning stack, at 3200, villain has me covered. I'm in EP with black 9's and I open to 3x BB : 180 ... guy in MP calls and the rest fold ...

Flop comes 3 4 6 rainbow ... I bet 250, villain calls ... pot at about 950. Turn is a 7. I bet 500 and villain raises to 850, which I thought was really weird. My next action should be?

I'd call and then check fold the river. You could even find a fold in the min raise but i think it's too small a raise to knock you off of your overpair. The guy probably has 55.

I'm thinking he's either got the straight or two pairs. I fold.

Had a very similiar hand happen last night. I had TT.
Called turn; check fold river.
Villian "showed" pocket dueces.

I've concluded that idiots are actually ingenious, employing methods of foolishness to confound the wise.

Wondering why he was allowed to raise to 850 on a 500 bet.

Alright, I found the HH ... I apologize because I misrepresented the hand, but I don't think it makes any difference, other than the obvious fact he wouldn't be able to raise from 500 to 850 unless he was AI, at which point it's a no brainer to call ... the raise is still a bit odd to me ... regardless, when I went through hand holdings in my mind, it was the straight that had me more worried than an overpair ( for no real reason, I'm just a pessimist ) ... here's the action up to this point ... getting 4.5:1 this is a standard call correct?

I still thijk it's a fold. Villain's weird raise (IMHO) is either a pot-steal attempt or a really strong hand building up a pot in which you will either have to set him in or call his push on the river due to the pot odds.

On a board like this I like betting 350 ON THE FLOP, and fold to resistance. 220 is more conductive to floating than 350 IMHO.

I like betting more on most flops as people with draws seem to pay any price. So why not make it a big one?
