Help me pick my NFC North Division winner this year
Ughhh....this is brutal. Have to pick it for my pool this year and it's pretty difficult - tough division where everyone seems to have acquired some new players and on paper should do better this year. I'm torn between Dallas and Philly at the point bc the Giants have looked terrible in the preseason and have a brutal schedule (and the 'skins have sucked in the preseaons too and I don't like their QB situation) but I'm not really sold on either. I just think TO is eventually bound to cause trouble in Dallas + Bledsoe is not all that great. Basically I'm thinking of taking Philly due to a healthy McNabb, good solid defense and a "gut" feel that they're all pissed after last years 6-10 debacle. But their receiver core is pretty lacking.
Thoughts/suggestions anyone? I'm all ears.... FWIW here are my selections so far: EAST New England NORTH Pittsburgh SOUTH Indianapolis WEST Denver EAST Philly/Dallas NORTH Chicago SOUTH Carolina WEST Seattle Wildcard Picks: Tampa Bay Jacksonville |

I would have gone with Dallas. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Giants take the East [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] FWIW I went with Philly [/ QUOTE ] I'll take the team that went 5-1 in the division last year including blowing out all 3 division rivals in late season games. The team that advanced further in the playoffs than anyone out of the division. I'll take the Washington Redskins. Would love to hear you guys back up your opinions a bit with some reasoning. I don't see how you can pick the other teams.... Dallas was swept by the Skins last year, they didn't make the playoffs, and their big addittion looks to be causing more trouble than helping out so far. Philly was also swept by the Skins and they were by far the worst team last year. The Giants started off hot last year and then faltered big time. They got absolutely destroyed in a home playoff game- not a good way to end the season. Eli regressed big time as the season went on. They have a very tough schedule. I understand that the Portis injury is cause for some concern, but with Duckett there, they are just as strong as last year rushing the football. Then theres the 2 new WRs and the biggest addition of all: Al Saunders. the preseason means absolutely nothing. Don't discount the Skins because they don't care about the preseason and might look bad in these meaningless games. |

For me, it was largely based on the Pinnacle line.
Washington is a fine choice too. Hell, they're all okay choices. It's a pretty evenly matched division. I agree with you that the preseason is often overrated in stuff like this. |

the preseason means absolutely nothing. [/ QUOTE ] Ah, yes, the cry of a fan whose favorite team's first squad has failed to score any points in 3 games. |
