Re: $16 Folding AK prelop is never fun but....
I'm not sure why you couldn't smooth call here. I mean, there are two hands that outright beat you, and you know where you are with the flop. MP3 probibly has a medium pocket pair or AK-AQ and wants to see the flop. SB could be trying to steal, but chances are he has a pretty good hand. If he happens to have AA or KK, I mean, rough beats, right? You certinly have the odds to call this at worst. If you miss the flop, you still have a good stack left.
Personally, i'd probibly shove here. There is more than enough money in the pot to try and steal it at this point. If SB woke up with one of the two hands that have you dominated, congrats for him. mp3 will probibly have hard time calling with a low-medium pocket pair, and will fold. If anyone else has AK, then you get to divide up that 300 extra in the pot, and if someone decided to be balsy with AQ, then you stand a goot shot to double up in the first hand. Even if they both call with JJ and QQ you are still pretty much in a coinflip situation for 2-1 on your money . |

I push here because of MP3's coldcall.

I push here because of MP3's coldcall. [/ QUOTE ] i think that this is a reasonable line...you have a lot of overlay in this hand to warrant a shove and its very unlikely that you get 2 calls |

Definitely need to start considering this myself when this comes up. I almost always flat call here and see what the flop brings.

Re: $16 Folding AK prelop is never fun but....
I also like pushing because of the donk in MP3 donating his chips to the pot...
Although you do have position in this hand which is cool, so I guess that gives calling some merit. Meh, I'd probably just shove cos of MP3. |

If you call, and the RRer has QQ, how much are you going to get out of him on an A or K board vs. how much you lose the times you whiff?
