Exactly The Type Of Situation That I\'m Getting Into Problems With
Seem to find myself in situations like this a lot and I am getting myself into bother with them. No real reads on MP2 but he’s been fairly loose over twenty hands or so. Thoughts at all stages appreciated.
8 Players UTG ( $10.69 ) UTG+1 ( $2.29 ) MP1( $8.82 ) MP2 ( $15.86 ) CO ( $33.97 ) BUTTON (HERO) ( $19.97 ) SB ( $4.45 ) BB ( $6.68 ) HERO is on the Button with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] PRE FLOP – SB posts small blind $0.05, BB posts big blind $0.1, UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1calls $0.1, MP2 raises $0.26, CO folds, HERO raises $0.75, SB folds, BB calls $0.65, MP1 folds, MP2 calls $0.49. FLOP 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] BB checks, MP2 bets $1.11, HERO raises $3, BB folds, MP2 calls $1.89. TURN 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] MP2 checks HERO ??? |

As played check behind.
Start putting in bigger raises. On that flop I'd just call behind - you are hardly getting a fold from anyone. |

Re: Exactly The Type Of Situation That I\'m Getting Into Problems With
the flop raise seems low. You didn't include the pot sizes in the history and I'm too lazy to make the math, but the pot is like $4 after his $1 flop bet ... and you raise to $4 ... making him call 2$ in a $7 pot ...
don't flop raised based on the bet amounts ... raise based on the size of the pot ... Check the turn if he's likely to fold a worst hand than AK to induce a bluff on the river. If you think you can value bet do it as you'll probably be able to value bet the river as well ... |

Re: Exactly The Type Of Situation That I\'m Getting Into Problems With
Why do people want to check, you have TPTK against a loose player bet the turn and bet the river and expect to see some crappy 1 pair hand.
Just make a 3/4 pot size bet. |

Re: Exactly The Type Of Situation That I\'m Getting Into Problems With
definitely check the turn. it's so bad to bet the turn because you will never know where you are at in a swelled pot.
it is definitely pot control time |

Re: Exactly The Type Of Situation That I\'m Getting Into Problems With
IMO, I bet 1/2 pot on the turn, if cr I probably fold. I do this for value and to get a better feel of where I am at.
If called then I either push the river if I improve to the straight(bet for expectation) or I check/fold(call small bet) the river if I don't improve. I think even with 2pr they will check to me here more often then not so I take the free showdown. |

Re: Exactly The Type Of Situation That I\'m Getting Into Problems With
We need to check this turn. It wasn't a scare card, but our TPTK is rarely good w/ that flop texture. I want to get to a showdown as cheap as possible unless a J hits on the river (I'm probably checking behind if a K hits).

If you are going to check behind on turn, how big a bet are you willing to call on river if a brick comes? How about a King?
