Default $27: Rate this steal

PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t150 (5 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com

UTG (t1415)
Hero (t2595)
Button (t4045)
SB (t2025)
BB (t3420)

Preflop: Hero is in CO with 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
<font color="gray">UTG folds</font>, <font color="red">Hero raises to t400</font>, <font color="gray">Button folds</font>, <font color="gray">SB folds</font>, <font color="red">BB raises to t1800</font>, <font color="gray">Hero folds</font>

Sometimes I feel as though my non-push steals cost me more chips than they gain. Is this standard? If so, what's your raising range?

8.3 (because you busted your nose on the board on the way down, and got blood in the pool )

Default *grunch*

I dont like the steal...

I'm usually folding these low pairs at this level w/ your chip stack.

Not real sure what my range should be here...I am probably only really raising with hands that I would call an all in with...and maybe AJ?

Might be kind of weak...

I am grunching this post but can't wait to read what bluefeet has to say about this...

Not as helpfull as I had hoped blue! (dont ban me for that with your new uber powers!!)

What is your range for trying to steal the blinds from LP with those stacks/blind level?

Also which hands are you calling a shove with here?

Thanks...

this is almost entirely read-dependant.

the co is a great spot for these kind of pre-pushbot steals because it gets a little more respect than the button, and if the blinds are tight enough, you can pretty much do this with any two.

66 plays like 82o here because you're not willing to call a push, so it comes down to how often you think you're taking down the blinds.

PP of 66 in a shorthanded game... The BB may have gone in for a re-steel. 50/50 push or fold. If you feel like gambling, push. Your a favorite over AK, AQ, AJ, AT, KQ, KJ, QJ, etc...

Exactly. Thus the lofty/yet not too telling "rating". While 66 isn't exactly 72o...the stack sizes and shortness of the table due present selective opening opportunities at the right table.

My range here is a lot tighter, 88+, AJ+, and that's only when I'm feeling frisky. If your non-push steals feel like they cost you more chips than they gain, then they probably do.

This is about my range as well...although I may sometimes fold 88 and 99 here because I'm still not calling pushes with those hands...
