I've been watching 'The Wire' on DVD lately, and I noticed something I don't think I ever remember seeing.... the opening theme song and closing theme songs of the show are completely different..... is this fairly common? What other shows do this?

Best example of this I can think of is WKRP in Cincinnati.

WKRP is a great example. The Office (BBC) does this as well.

I think Mr. Rodgers neighborhood had completly different opening and closing songs. In fact I think there were two or three different closing songs.

Hmm, i don't remember BBC Office themes being completely different.... I thought the closing theme was just the opening theme with vocals added to it... I'll have to pop in that dvd and relisten...

I'm almost positive The Jeffersons did, and maybe Sanford and Son as well.
Most anime series have different opening and closing theme songs (that also change during the run of the series). |
