I figured a 8 dollar bet was a push to get me off the hand, figured a minraise would either have em fold or just call if he didnt have it. A reraise would tell me what I needed to know.

AScorz,

so what range of hands did you put him on?

Why did you think his bet was one that was trying to push you off a hand?

If he had a monster, why would he definitely re-raise?

What extra info do you get from a raise that a call doesnt give you?

I figured medium pair, maybe 8's. Possibly a Ace rag, small heart. He's an unknown, so no clear reads. I thought 8 was a push because it was just a little more then the pot, trying to kill any draws. I liked the minraise because of two things. 1. If he had a monster, I figured a reraise would be coming, or he would hammer me on the turn, which he checked. It also bought me the option of checking and getting a free card.
