Re: help with Kings in a 4/180
this is tough. It really comes down to your read of this player. If it's a good player, you're probably in trouble, what he's representing is either better than TPTK (ie overpair/set) or it's huge draw. If it's a mediocre to bad player, I go broke.

Re: help with Kings in a 4/180
the tourney had just started. No read except for one guy who was really loose and had played every hand.
I had assumed he had AJ but when he re-re-raised me i thought i was beat, just couldnt drop em. |

Re: help with Kings in a 4/180
oh yeah, that's right, it's a 4/180...
in that case I probably go busto despite the action and fire another one up in 10 minutes |

Re: help with Kings in a 4/180
Sigh...
Raise more PF. Make T8 and J9 and such pay for the chance to flop big. Cut down their implied odds. Raise to 160-200 PF and whoever hit this flop AND DOESN'T have a set - made a mistake Preflop. I'm thinking it's a straight or 2p, because the combo draw would most likely push this at some point... I fold to the 4-bet. |

Re: help with Kings in a 4/180
there's really no problem with just a 4xbb raise here.

Re: help with Kings in a 4/180
Your flop 3-bet is really small. Why's your 3-bet on the flop so tiny? I'd just push.

Re: help with Kings in a 4/180
original bet was 80, MP1 made it 160 to go, 3x160 = 480, I raised to 400. At this point I still assumed I had the best hand, and wanted to keep one perosn in the hand. Noah, you are saying open push with 10/20 blinds on the flop when the pot is only (250 + 80 + 160 = )500 and you say push 1390 in?

Re: help with Kings in a 4/180
I agree with raising more preflop, especially since you have one limper -- he is probably coming along regardless. I'd raise to 125 or so.
I'm pushing this reraise. It's early and it's a $4. Yeah -- he might have flopped two pair or the straight, but early on players are raising with a ton of hands. He likely has a J and a straight draw or two clubs. I push and pray... If it doesn't work out, on to the next tourney |
