Why does Party take so long to open?

When I first open party...it takes a heck of a long time to open, what's the hold up? It usually takes a minute or two, when programs should be able to open in 10-20 seconds at most.

Are you on cable? I am and Party is by far the slowest to open for me. (probably not 1-2minutes, but slow) All just part of the annoying that is party.

I just timed it, and Party opens for me in about 5 seconds.

Maybe your computer can't handle the incredible resource hog that is PartyPoker.

They're scanning your hard drive.

PokerStars takes long to open for me...or at least connect.

each time it opens, it it has to write a temp executable to your hard drive which logs all keystrokes

If I reboot my computer and open Party, the first time it takes a few minutes. It's fine after that.

Yeah, after the first time it's pretty snappy, first time sucks though.
