Would you slow down? KJs
Villain is 70/10/1.8 and always bet out like this no matter what flops.
Ok, so after the turn I realize he has a 7, but 7T? no way. I'm still good. I was tempted to raise the river too but chickened out. [ QUOTE ]
I was tempted to raise the river too but chickened out. [/ QUOTE ] That wouldn't be very bright. I don't even cap the turn against non-maniacs, especially with the CO calling in between. The villain is playing 70% of his hands. 44, 77, 74s and 7T are all possible. SpaceAce |

Re: Would you slow down? KJs
Capping the flop is no good here.
you said villain likes to donk lots of flops, which implies that he does this a lot with air. In this hand he check/threballed the flop, which implies a big made hand. you've got zero chance of winning the pot right out, and a very slim shot at getting a free card on the turn. Therefore you have no incentive to put any more bets in until you make your hand. turn is fine. with an appropriate read I'd raise/call the river. this may be one of those spots. |

Re: Would you slow down? KJs
I'm not raising the river after the way the flop and turn came down.

Re: Would you slow down? KJs
you don't think villain pays off 7x?
do you think he check/calls 7x? I think he'll bet/raise it quite a lot, as that tends to be the mentality of scattershooters: play a lot of hands, and then pedal to the metal when we connect more than just a little. I don't have the read though, so I could be wrong. |

Re: Would you slow down? KJs
*grunch*
Villain didn’t bet out on flop, he check-3bet. He’s hit a set or maybe even a FH on the flop. I’ve lost a lot to maniacs who play things like 74 suited. You can’t fold, but after the flop bet you shouldn’t be raising. |
