Default What other games in the Big Game at Table 1?

Several of the players interviewed about the recent HORSE event at the WSOP made comments that ran to the effect of, "Oh we play all those games every day in the Big Game, and seven or eight other besides". I think they might be exaggerating by just a hair--or maybe there are a few I'm not aware of. Offhand, I can come up with the following:

Both flavors of triple draw (count these as two, I guess)
Badugi
Stud Hi/Lo Regular (no qualifier)
Chinese Poker
PLO (usually with some max cap on how much a player can lose on any given hand)
No-Limit Holdem? Do they really have this one in the mix regularly?

Any others I'm not thinking of? If NLHE is not included, seems more like six other games. OTOH, if we're going to start getting into hair-splitting contests over different versions of Chinese, I guess we can come up with an almost infinite number of games.

The only time I ever played Chinese at all seriously was a few years ago at Binion's when they basically let us play for free all night (no rake), as long as we took care of the dealers. We played for $2 a point, the version where your middle hand has to be your best (worst?) 2-7 hand. And we played with the button, so people were allowed to just surrender to their opponents for $3, assuming no one else surrendered ahead of them.

So if this or other versions of Chinese are in the mix, I guess it's possible that they really do have that many other games possible. Just wanted to know if there are any other games out there that we mere mortals don't know about.

I found these lists from Negreanu blog entries from 3/20 and 5/19- I would look there for more references to the big game.
------------
When I got there the game was three handed, $4000-$8000 mixed. The games were:

Limit Hold'em
No Limit Hold'em (1k-2k blinds, 1k ante with a 100k cap)
Omaha H/L
Pot Limit Omaha (1k-2k blinds, with a 100k cap
7 Card Stud
7 Card Stud 8 or better
7 Card Stud Hi-Lo Regular
2-7 Triple Draw
2-7 No Limit Single Draw (1k-2k blinds with a 100k cap)

And from 5/19

We kicked it up after about 4 hours, though, and eventually the game was $4000-$8000. Eli went to the drawer and grabbed all the games:

A-5 Triple Draw
2-7 Triple Draw
2-7 Single Draw (no limit)
7 Card Stud High-Low Regular
Pot Limit Omaha
No Limit Hold'em
Hold'em
Omaha H/L
Razz
Stud
Stud H/L

A total of 11 different games. THAT"S poker ladies and gentlemen. You want to be a legitimate player, you are just going to have to learn all of the games. You'll also probably have a ton of fun with it too.

The antes in the NL game seem awfully high (equal to the SB?). Does anyone know if this is common in these high stakes games? It would certain require much higher raising preflop to force people from calling questionable hands.

they play NL games in the big game, but they have a maximum loss of like $250k in one hand. as you can imagine why, they coudl get some obnoxious pots going if they had no stop gap.

ehem.. like when someone makes quads on the turn vs. someone's boat.. and flopped set over set.

It's a metaphor. Presumably Eli Elezra was instrumental in choosing the mix and went for the gusto.

I don't think its a metaphor at all. I think there are cards or placards or whatever you want to call them that denote the games- so Eli literally did go to the drawer and grab all the games (or at least their placards). I assume they use these to keep track of the order, and to let newcomers know what the mix is.

I've always thought the structure for these games is really strange. I mean, 8-handed NLHE will start with 10K in the pot just from blinds and antes, so the cap is only 10X the origional pot size. I see why they'd have a cap, it just seems a bit low.
