Default trouble at SIA.

OK, so I just singed up at SIA. I've only been playing about 10 minutes, I've only wagered $150 so far. I'm betting one dollar a hand on Pontoon, and I'm already down 60 bucks. I've got a looong way to go, and I've already lost half the sign up bonus.

This is the chart I'm using. I am doing exactly as that chart says.

After loosing 22 hands in a row just now, I decided to stop and post here.

Is the variance on this game really high? Is this not a correct chart to use?

Me thinks I should go play BJ....

Pontoon is well known to have very high variance. Probably just bad luck, although losing 22 hands in a row is pretty bad.

Just don't tilt if it goes bad. take a break. continue tomorrow.

I lost like 50 hands in a row in BJ at casino euro and then tilted the rest away, first time that happened to me in my casinowhoring career and also the first time I went busto.

Yeh, I'm a pretty calm person, I just bet the min. and do exactly as the chart says. I've done like a dozen casino bonuses now. It's just I've done almost all of them with BJ, I'm a Pontoon newbie I guess.

I really just wanted to post and make sure the chart I was using was correct.

As 136913691369 pointed out Pontoon has very high variance. I did not know that. So swinging 50-60 bets probably isnt too rare in retrospect.

anyhoo I'm going to ride it out playing BJ.

thnx for the replies all.

Kev.

The reason pontoon has such high variance is because there's so much doubling down (which doubles the amount you wager), and there's no pushing (where you dont lose or make anything). So youve either got to go up or down, and you do it very fast.
